Helping The others Realize The Advantages Of Home Cleaning

As a Maid Service Provider, have you ever arrived to a customer's home, you've bid for a certain amount of time, or a particular job, and you arrive, and there's additional work needed? What on earth do you do?

All right, now that is a trick question, because we have set aside a particular amount of time based upon a person's home when we went to bid the preliminary agreement, right? Now, when you get to a customer's home, and it's truly important to do this up front, when you get to a client's home and you're walking through your house with the customer. You have to ask the client about this concern, "Did you just pick up your house before I got here, or is your house usually in this condition? If I provide you a cost based upon this condition of your house, when I show up each time to clean, I expect your home to be in this condition.

If I show up and there's spaghetti all over the kitchen area, or if there are toys all over your house, or there's laundry and things scattered about, there's clutter everywhere, it's going to take a lot more time than I'm bidding for today. In case I get here and the house is just trashed for whatever factor, and in some cases it happens, I either have to charge you more of a higher rate, or I need to simply get the mess and let that be the job of the day. Which is it?" And let the client choose. Because the homeowner often will state, "I would rather you pick up the clutter, due to the fact that in some cases my house is simply a mess, and I don't have time to clean it up." There are other clients that say, "I don't wish to pay additional money to have you come at your rate and pick up my mess." All right, then from day one, let's accept that when I show up, your house will be in this condition. You need to have that conversation due to the fact that if you're showing up now, and the home keeps getting messier and messier, either the nanny needs to get the toys, or the homeowner needs to get the toys, or the kid whose toys they come from need to get the toys.

I don't truly care who it is, but unless they have actually specifically contracted you to pick up the clutter, then that needs to be a discussion that you have with the home owner, due to the fact that no one is paying you right now to choose up the mess, and you have another home to clean when you're done here. If you have two or 3 click for more homes in a day, whether you admit it or not, it's on a timed schedule.

When the time for that home is up, you can't keep staying and cleaning, since you will lose money from the next house you're supposed to go clean. Does that make good sense? You do have to have a discussion with the client, and simply say, "Hey, listen. When I bid the job, your house remained in this condition, and now that I've shown up, always there's extra mess. It's taking time that I don't have.

I did not budget the clutter time into the job and the rate that I gave you. Would you like me to charge you more money and take time far from another homeowner so that I can broaden your window of time, or would you like to get the clutter prior to me arriving?"

Now, a lot of people when you give them the option, they don't want to pay the extra money, because home cleaning is not cheap, and they can easily pick up their own toys, or teach their kids to put things away after they're done. I've seen extremely, very small children that are trained to put their toys away when they're done playing. It is a learned skill, and it's something a mother or father can learn themselves and teach their children. Then kids can help moms and dads save that additional money rather than pay it to the maid service.

So it's just a discussion you have to have. Don't worry about if they're going to be angered.

"Your house is a mess, you hired me. I require to assist you, you have to assist me understand what those options are. The two of you need to come up with the answer.

Up until we meet again, leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.
